"The arts and humanities define who we are as a people. That is their power -- to remind us of what we each have to offer, and what we all have in common. To help us understand our history and imagine our future. To give us hope in the moments of struggle and to bring us together when nothing else will. " ― Michelle Obama
Friends and Visitors,
Thank you for visiting my website - I very much appreciate you taking the time out of your day. Before I head into third-person, I felt compelled to at least say 'Hello'.
Tenor Jordan Loyd (He/They) is a self-described ‘Artist-Who's-Young’ eager to do his part in shaping the future of classical music and opera. Jordan recently finished their Masters degree at University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, where they were fortunate to play the role of ‘Jeník’ in Smetana’s The Bartered Bride as well as singing ‘The Evangelist’ in the North American premiere of Sixten’s Johannespassionen.
Before the outbreak of Coronavirus, Jordan was slated to be a Gerdine Young Artist at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis where they would cover the role of ‘Eisenstein’ in J. Strauss’s Die Fledermaus and perform the Grand Duet from Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots as a part of OTSL's annual Centerstage concert. In Summer 2019, Jordan was a Studio Artist at Chautauqua Opera where they sang ‘Marquis’ and covered ‘Bégearss’ in Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles and portrayed 'Lennie' in Floyd's Of Mice and Men in Chautauqua's annual Scenes Program.
